I’m p sure the easiest way to get media localized faster would be to raise rates for external contractors so they can dedicate more time to individual series and hire more people on the other end of the process (typesetters/etc for manga, programmers for games, etc) to reduce those bottlenecks

Which reminds me Time Stranger is definitely the best translation the series has ever gotten... which is kind of sad.
Not so hard as buggy and completely nonsensical when it came to it's translation. You can barely tell what they're talking about, let alone hard evolution requirements.
They'll deliver value to the shareholders! And then they will sell off whatever is left of the videogame side after they sucked all the money out of it.
As an instructor, I'd rather see your fever dream, No Doze-fueled 4AM essays written at an IHOP rather than anything generated by an LLM.
