Excuse me for thinking like a historian of modern Europe.

"Trump Fires Kristi Noem as Homeland Security Secretary" = Night of the Long Knives (sacrificing a "radical" to appease public opinion)
"Trump Says U.S. Should Have Role in Picking Iran’s Leader" = point 5 of the Austrian ultimatum to Serbia

And what if you don’t want to take 900 history books with you to your retirement home?

The natural thing would be the donate them to the university library, but what if your library says, β€œNo thanks. We only collect e-books now”? And what if you have no grad students who want them? Then what?

Question for the academics here:
Let’s say you’ve been a professor or lecturer for 35 years. In that time you have amassed a huge collection of books on the history of Germany, Mexico, China, or whatever your geographic specialty was. What do you do with them when you retire?

Leaving aside the man’s politics, why was the head of the FBI partying with the hockey team? Just on the face of it, it’s extremely odd.
I’m sure it never occurred to William Webster to intrude in the locker room celebration of the Miracle on Ice team in 1980 or any American Olympic team.

There was literally an international hit pop song about this very phenomenon back in 1983.

In Bonn, a cloister was turned into a concentration camp (transit camp) for Jews en route to death camps. And for many years in the 20th century, it was used as a dormitory for female students at Uni Bonn et al. Now it's a seminary for priests.

The Louvre Thieves Dropped This Priceless Crown. Now It Looks Like This.

The New York Times published photos of Empress Eugenie’s squashed crown. I can’t help but think that it’s a metaphor for the French Second Empire itself.
