Flashbacks to the Bush era when I quit my job at Teavana because it was costing half my paycheck just to get to work

I’m so fucking bummed about missing the Frogman Festival 😭

I’m lowkey glad that dad’s current health crisis happened BEFORE I went at least, I definitely would have lost my mind if it happened while I was out of town

But still, this is one of the shows I really really looked forward to

My spark for the game definitely dwindled with all this nonsense. I stopped playing a while ago but thought about picking up the xpac as a distraction, but not if it’s just gonna nickel and dime me to death. As if I haven’t sunk enough money into that game in the past 2 decades.

Please pray for my dad, he’s going into surgery and the doctor who called really didn’t have much in the way of hope for the future

The nurse here just asked if dad has a wheelchair “at home” and I completely short circuited and blubbered out the whole history of how he SHOULD be home but CAN’T because every stop seems to make him worse (this particular issue isn’t on his current facility though, just freak shit afaik)

and she had the misfortune of calling to update me in the midst of it. I only picked up mid-fit because of dad being in the hospital and I was worried they were calling.

I feel like I should send her cookies or muffins or something

Like, I aaaaaabsolutely and embarrassingly trauma dumped hysterically at one of my mom’s nurses while on my way home to feed the dog earlier, because as I was driving through the park where dad and I regularly took the dog for rides, everything was hitting,

So yeah, I’m trying to get home to feed my dog and let him out and then come back to spend the night with my dad, in part because for some fucking reason none of these hospitals have sip and puff mouth operated call lights and without me there, dad has no way of asking for help

Just something about getting it validated before leaving
Turns out they only validate if you’re discharged
Also they’d moved my car which I never asked them to do, I literally just thought I was parking where everyone else was parking

The guy was upset that I wasn’t nicer when I handed him the eight dollars and proceeded to go as slowly as humanly possible, and I never asked for valet, I was just in a hurry getting into the ER and didn’t understand what the girl was talking about when she handed me a blue ticket

Having to pay for hospital parking is fucking criminal

Dad’s being admitted, getting blood transfusions and hefty antibiotics, in addition to xrays and cat scans.

The other was an airman, died on a mission in Guam just before Vietnam
The stepgrandfather was a large Scandanavian who served in the SeaBees and became a steel mill worker

If I have something important to keep finances flowing

If you have another opportunity, I used to get fairly decent nighttime pics by using a flashlight (I think I was using a little LED flashlight)
But being able to move the flashlight around for different lighting options was nice.
