Surely we now need a coalition of the progressive left including the trade unions?

@playingout.bsky.social has leaflets in Urdu too!
Printing leaflets in different languages is democratic, inclusive, empowering - values clearly threatening to those who want to control the narrative. @greenparty.org.uk

Shouldn’t that be requack?
My friend Dee is a parent at this Bristol school and wrote an open letter to Keir Starmer (in comments). www.theguardian.com/education/20...
There’s a lot I agree with in this - especially (strongly) that children need more freedom & independence. But it’s not just down to parenting and societal acceptance. We also need to address traffic dominance and danger - a risk children shouldn’t have to deal with. @playingout.bsky.social
So hard to let go of a lifelong belief in “our” BBC. But you’re right.
The BBC homepage just now…still going for “both sides” despite the very clear evidence one side is lying.

Thank you @theguardian.com for this truthful and responsible reporting. And shame on those media outlets and journalists - including BBC - who are not calling out Trump’s lies. We’ve all seen the videos.
A super-cheesy version but this song reminds me of being a kid on a mass bike-ride / demo (pre-Critical Mass) through Bristol city-centre around 1980! m.youtube.com/watch?v=jcb_...
The video!
Nice bikes. Shame about the casual sexual harassment!
Climate *collapse*, surely?
“Board of peace”. Right.
That’s good. I was referring to Mark Carney’s speech.
This is what I’ve been saying too! Hard to do at individual level but countries should do it. Whatever the “sacrifice”, surely it’s worth it?
Brilliant speech **but** we “middle powers” need to acknowledge what has been very wrong with the “old world order” - colonialism, exploitation, racism, oppression, economic inequality, environmental disaster - and plan to rebuild better alongside the global majority.

Plus acknowledging Canada’s own historic human rights abuses??
I thought Gordon Brown’s piece was good - would be v keen to hear your thoughts. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
To quote a great philosopher:
"Fuck you I won't do what you tell me!"
I know, why don’t we just scrap all this democracy nonsense altogether and just let the grown-ups get on with the proper work of spending our money in the way they see fit?
He knows the seduction of a simple argument and doesn’t want to acknowledge the complex societal/environmental reasons children no longer play freely outside. He’s doing very well out of blaming it entirely on phones and parenting.
Now you’re out of the Traitors’ castle, do you fancy also coming out of barrister-retirement and defending me against a terrorism charge for holding a cardboard sign? 😉 (I’m serious).
What that was you??!!! Well thank you for making it worth watching. Not sure I can be bothered to carry on with it now.
I fully support their decision to live. They have already succeeded in exposing beyond doubt the UK Government’s pathological loyalty to a genocidal state. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026...
I did not say anyone is telling women to shoulder it alone. I just meant that macho men can respond violently if they even *think* women are mocking them. This is not particular to the US - it’s universal.
