It has taken 10 years of being on the @heypresents.com stage as MC to secure a slot to actually give a talk. So, you know... I better not screw it up.
Tickets for this final edition are going.
Get yours.
I'm so excited to see Phil give this talk, the last ever talk we'll have at the conference. It seems fitting, and I can't wait to hear it.
An image of a terminal on a Mac, with an orange prompt reading "heypresents", running the command "cat cassie-evans.md | glow". This in turn renders the outputted Markdown file in the terminal, reading: Cassie Evans Cassieβs an SVG nerd, creative developer and educator. As part of the team behind GSAP, she supports the community with resources that make learning web animation more approachable. ## Game On! Cassieβs taking GSAP for a spin in a live-coded game, and the direction it takes is up to you. With input from the audience, the game will take shape in real time. Characters? Enemies? Explosions? Syntax errors that break the whole thing (hopefully not). Who knows, anything could happen.
The incredible @cassiecodes.bsky.social joins us in May for All Day Hey! 2026. She'll be speaking about taking GSAP for a spin in a live-coded game, and the direction it takes is up to you!

How can we learn from their experience to get better at web accessibility? With the guidance of Bill and Ted we'll explore the ups and downs I went through teaching accessibility, and why focusing on testing works so well.

When you've had the experience of working through these sort of tasks manually, moments like this can feel a lot like cheating, and I for one am very happy to cheat in this area.
The server did crash with an obscure bug during the testing phase and Claude also helped patch that, too. It pains me to think how many weeks or months in the past have been lost to big upgrades in non-trivial apps.
This morning, I set Claude off upgrading a legacy Rails app with a bunch of vulnerabilities and it did an incredible job of bringing the codebase up to date. A few smoke tests and test runs later, all was proven to be in working order.
A lot of the recent coverage on Claude Code talks to the benefit of using Claude to code up new functionality or ideas super fast, however a critical strength of it is all the other tasks that sink time but don't provide as much value.
A few weeks left to bag a ticket at the discounted cost before they go to full price!
Cakey Jakey returns to the All Day Hey! stage in May π§
We especially focused on the creation of a Lovelace Institute in Manchester to help drive innovation outside of London. It was a longer chat than expected, full of so many sound bites worth listening to.

Me and James had a wonderful chat with Tom Forth on where innovation funding really goes in the UK, and how we need to be stronger and more insistent when it comes to securing funding outside of London.

As an introvert, I used to think that being reserved meant Iβd struggle to connect or stand out. In this talk, Iβll share my journey of learning how to navigate those moments, build genuine connections, and communicate with confidence without pretending to be someone Iβm not.
