The Longest Journey was the first one to play. Dreamfall the second and the. Its sequel(s?).
It's a typical mouse game and sometimes a pixel hunt, at least in the older ones.
Dreamfall was an experiment with 3d controls
Still have so many on my list... Including Point and Click Adventures like the latest Monkey Island, A Twisted Tale, Cleo, Syberia 3 + World Before, the last "The Longest Journey", FF7 Rebirth...
But it seems like you have a healthy balance to gaming, too.

In that regard imho you are much more of a gamer than I am, because you have so much more gaming experience. (I barely have the time to expand my knowledge nowadays...)
In my opinion "gamer" knows no gender. It includes all and everyone able to play.
That being said I do think that older people being gamers is still a rarity, since even in my generation (80s) it wasn't too common. I have high respect and awe for those gamers of their time.

Sorry to hear. While I can feel you (also first Christmas time without my mother), I still have it ahead of me, since I have been sick since the 24th and Christmas+New Years just didn't happen.
Will have to finally restart and finish it this year.
To hopefully end up in a better position than in 2025.
