This helps us understand more about the ways in which 🇪🇺 climate diplomacy takes place and how Delegations interact with local actors, though it will be interesting to see how this evolves with the current cuts to Delegation budgets and staff and changing attitudes to civil society.

Somewhat surprisingly, we find that local information seems to be less important to Delegations than the legitimacy that CSOs can bring to the EU's climate diplomacy and outreach activities.

We find that CSOs are one of the most common partners for Delegations and that they interact through meetings, joint outreach activities, and by providing material and non-material support. 🫱🏼‍🫲🏽
