in a similar way to how el and claude are bad at healing because they lack faith, i wonder if dimitri is meant to be bad at reason because, if studying magic is akin to manipulating reality, his grip on what is real is the weakest...

edelgard is bad at the bow because she cannot take the long, indirect, fleeting path to her goals. claude is bad at the lance because he is not so simply straightforward. dimitri cannot brutally cleave away tradition as one might fell a tree with an axe.

i've always found it cute that the lords in 3h have a bane in learning each other's signature weapon... i like to think that it's an expression of their inability to see eye to eye, through game mechanics
