Peppermint shrapnel enthusiast. GenX snarkbeast. Chaos Muse (aka 'next level weirdness magnet'). In a perpetual state of too much or too little coffee. Not as interesting as the conspiracy theories about me might make one think.

I loved this look so much, that weird vintage/punk fusion. It was SO GOOD. It just worked every single time.

I found the only known pic of part of it (barely the neckline) which was amusingly one my then boyfriend found of me in The Duelist. I'm the nervous face in the bottom right.

1991. Olive/brown lace/mesh overdress, scoop neck, 3/4 sleeves, split front skirt over simple black anything (skirt, leggings, etc.) with beat-to-hell Victorian ankle boots covered in safety pins and creative repairs. Variable weird belts.

A+++ clove-smoking art student cliche; nailed it.

I love watching people use LLMs in public. They’ll reply to a breaking news article and say β€œ@grok is this true?” Babe where do you think it’s about to pull its answer from

This magnificent bird wouldn't look at all out of place in the Dark Crystal universe, and that's pretty dang neat.

I am choosing to believe that the new 'The Shield of the Americas' initiative is 'Conquistadors 2.0', and we're about to see Kristi Noem in many more impressively ridiculous outfits until she mysteriously vanishes into the Amazon on a mission to convince the locals to become South-South Dakota.

Worse than this: the Hannibal (TV) series (which I love and is just so fucking gorgeous).

I have watched it too many times to still be this fat.

Across Instagram, militia cells are posting combat training videos, networking with other groups, and recruiting new members. Many frame themselves as disaster responders, but their pages feature Christian nationalist symbols and rhetoric tied to extremism and far-right subcultures.

This simply doesn't seem all that far-fetched and needs to be investigated.

I had taken such comfort in it not meaning that for decades, I really had. Oof.

A "Grandiloquent Word of the Day" meme for the word β€œPeriapt" with the pronunciation [PAIR-ee-apt]. The definition reads: β€œ(n.) A charm or amulet worn as protection against mischief, misfortune, and disease.” An example sentence follows: β€œYoung Peregrine wore a small brass periapt against illness, though, in the end, it proved regrettably ineffective against falling pianos.” To the right are eleven small engraved illustrations of ancient amulets and talismans with carved symbols, animals, and geometric designs, all rendered in a vintage black-ink style on an aged parchment background.

The first time I used Febreze, it was on some old scraps of fur I wanted to get the mothball scent out of before using them in a craft thing. I then had to iron it. I thought it was dry. No. The reek of hot-mothball-Febreze-fur scraps from the 1910s? Do not recommend. It still haunts my nightmares.

In 1966 the New Jersey Young Republicans gleefully sang racist and antisemitic songs at their gatherings. The lyrics to one went β€œRiding the Reich in my Mercedes Benz, shooting every kike, saving all my friends." Hartford Courant, 13 February 1966.

US air defenses may not be able to intercept many of Iran’s one-way drones | CNN Politics Trump administration officials told lawmakers during a closed-door briefing on Capitol Hill Tuesday that Iran’s Shahed attack drones represent a major challenge and US air defenses will not be able to...

I have watched many videos now of Ukrainian volunteers who have stapled together three soviet-era AK-47s and mounted them on basically a golf cart shooting down Geran-style drones.

If the US can't figure out how to efficiently intercept a drone I can make in my basement, that's a skill issue.

I love that they're treating her like some tween that got hold of mom's credit card and went on a spending spree.

She's acting like a spoiled tween, so something about it at least feels vibe-appropriate.

It wasn't "cancel culture" when women and people of color got used up, silenced, and dismissed before their careers even began. It only became "cancel culture" when powerful abusers started having established careers momentarily inconvenienced by revelations of what they'd done.
