We built a containerised workflow that handles QC, doublet detection, CITE‑seq for scRNA‑seq data, and outputs a ready‑to‑use #Seurat object. One command, #reproducible results—ideal for labs without dedicated bioinformatics support.

Today Mastodon is taking another step towards its founding ideals: independence and non-profit ownership. We're transferring ownership of key assets to a new, European not-for-profit entity, ensuring our mission remains true to a decentralised social web, not corporate control […]
That's all for this year, have a nice break!

Bravo for @fabricefrank.bsky.social
In-depth interview. Former biologist turned computer scientist, Fabrice Frank, passionate about science, has since Covid launched into the hunt for scientific fraud. He has revealed several scandals of national magnitude.
Congrats to our PhD student Jack Frew for the poster prize 🥳🥳!!

Has anyone ever come up with a #proteomics method for positively identifying transmembrane domains? I often run across predicted/calculated TMs that look like they are wrong, but there isn't much real data for validation of these hypotheses.
#EMDS conference ready to start
P.S. impressive venue
Just found out an app that allows me to follow both #mastodon and #bluesky timelines and post on them both.

"Our analysis demonstrates that research institutions seem to be 'trapped' in transformative agreements. Instead of being a bridge towards a fully #OpenAccess world, academia is stuck in the hybrid system. This endows […]

All VEuPathDB Genomics Databases Are Offline Current Status of VEuPathDB genomics databases NIH funding for the Eukaryotic Pathogen, Host & Vector Bioinformatics Resource Center (VEuPathDB) ended on 14 Sept 2024, as NIAID has chosen to take the BRC program in other directions. As a result, FungiDB, VectorBase, AmoebaDB, CryptoDB, GiardiaDB, MicrosporidiaDB, PiroplasmaDB, PlasmoDB, ToxoDB, TrichDB, TriTrypDB, and HostDB are currently inaccessible.
Ik im preaching to the choir on here, but I do genuinely get the pushback from cloudbrained ppl that "we don't need #p2p data infra because Amazon is giving it to us for free rn, and if they stop the NIH would step in because they dont want to lose all the […]
