The Plan Past April I have a poetry collection that I intend to release soon. I need to double check the publishing requirements for one of the poems in it, as I entered it in a contest back in October, and results are not due to be announced until April. The website I am setting up will have membership tiers, monthly rates for early access to posts two weeks before they are viewable by non-subscribers. Same thing across all tier levels, at this point in time, I do not have the energy or will to fuss over specifics; especially as even this much is in opposition to my values. I am currently planning on once a week posting: Fun Facts, Sneak peeks of WIP’s, aesthetic inspirations/hints for WIP’s, and something akin to reviews without actually being a review. I have the vague workings of one novella. And the idea for what will probably be a novel? Not entirely certain yet. I simply need to actually write them before anything else. I potentially have more poems for another collection.

This is going to be a long process. Recovery, my mental health, the regime in charge of the country I am in will all make it slow, no matter my best intentions or desire. For that reason, I will not even hint at a potential timeline. So that is where I am at. I need some help, and I am truly at my wit’s end for how to fix any of this. I loathe to ask for help and not offer something for it immediately, however I simply cannot at the moment. Thank you at least for your time to read this. It truly is priceless. ~ KP

The Issue Complete, total honesty. I am in a very bad financial position, monetarily and with my credit score, for those who are also in the US and deal with that as well. For the last year a quarter or so, I have been attempting to find a second job (or a full time replacement job for the one I currently have). There have been only a handful of interviews, none of which led to anywhere. I will absolutely take some of the weight for this, I am far too old and far too tired to be aggravating my chronic physical issues with constant standing (literally painful) and risking re-injuring my back (I’ve already pushed it to the point in the past where I could not stand, I refuse to go back to that), etc. Along with my ADHD which has its whole host of comorbidities, I will admit to being choose-y (and even then, I have broken those lines a few times to attempt at least an interview, and nothing). Part of the weight goes on Denver. This job market here is horrendous, and there is no indication of it getting any better. When I moved to Denver 4.5 years ago, I did not expect to spend so long in the pits of recovering from severe burnout and adjusting to no longer living in survival mode; and I definitely did NOT expect to lose the job that allowed me to move in the first place. To say that my plans for after moving have completely, utterly, and entirely failed is an understatement.

The Request With the surgery I am getting on the 27th, I will be out of work for two weeks, which leaves me a paycheck short for April. On top of the basic monthly bills, Gusu really should have an ultrasound and a more in depth blood test (I think it was a blood test) to determine what is causing his calcium levels to be elevated. They are not at a “dangerous” level, but the vet and myself agree it is better to find the problem NOW instead of later. I have actually already delayed these from the last vet appointment six months ago. So I need help. In the long run, this procedure will be beneficial for a LOT of reasons, physical and mental. I am slowly getting the sparsest of writer websites set up, a handful are already subscribed. But that is a long term solution, and it is going very slow, and I need the help now. Linked is my Kofi. Of course there is absolutely no pressure, but if you have anything to spare, it is very much needed over here.

Full Transparency A few of you are aware that I have a trip planned for later this year. A friend is upfronting the money for me as well as her to go to LA to see BTS in September. The agreement is I pay her my allotment before then. Is this irresponsible? Probably. But it is honestly something much needed. I need something to look forward to, to experience, to have a chance of feeling actually alive instead of the day to day. And I desperately need the opportunity to get out of Colorado, even if only briefly. Why am I even mentioning this? Because it already feels atrocious to even have to be asking for help like this, it feels truly untenable to ask and not mention this. I would hate for anyone to help now, and then see talk of that trip and feel deceived.
