Toronto rapid transit map redesign by August, showing express bus, light rail, subway, and regional rail lines
a little side project i've been working on for the last two weeks, in absence of an equivalent Metrolinx/TTC map:
a rapid transit map that includes all fast and frequent transit that runs 7-days a week within the city of toronto, and better shows different "layers" of higher-order transit

to inaugurate the new blog, i've written about a local and contentious topic that's been on my mind for years. at its heart, it's about understanding the information that transit riders need.
the case for splitting TTC Line 1:
tbh i was debating whether to add them at the start but s2 looks too funny and stupid to not have lol
a diagram of rail transit lines in beijing including the subway, trams, and suburban rail. the design language is based on massimo vignelli's 1972 new york city subway map and uses muted colours on a light background with a folded paper texture. there is a legend and list of services on the top.

June 2025 edition of Seattle Transit Map
After over a year of neglect, I finally updated my Seattle Transit Map! September will mark the tenth anniversary of the map. The website itself needs work but the new layer is now online. seattletransitmap.com/app/
its disappointing how there wont be a one seat ride on rail, or higher order transit at all to the area around sofi stadium from lax despite their proximity, while lhr manages a one or two seat ride on rail to most major event venues including londons olympic park even though its further away
inter-terminal, probably. but what metrics make lax win overall?
i think lhr still has the superior regional connections as theres not only the tube and liz line but also local and regional buses, and an easy connection to the gwml. and plus the trains are faster and allow more one seat rides
this! its comical seeing things like the K zooming out of the big flashy tunnel and immediately getting stuck behind a traffic light. at least turn on signal priority!!
