Contributing to projects like PostmarketOS (mobile) and Linux distro development are essential to building that ecosystem.

Almost like SpaceX buying up Cybertrucks where this is Copilot soaking up Azure Virtual Desktop/Windows 365 instances.

Yesterday we caught the CityCat from Bretts Wharf to South Bank for 50c and they were the busiest I've ever seen them. Long queues every 15 minutes at South Bank and solid numbers of people getting on and off at major stops in between. The 50c fare cap is genuinely moving people.
More of this. ๐Ÿšข

Walking around Brisbaneโ€™s South Bank yesterday was a glimpse of the future.

Streets noticeably quieter and cleaner thanks to Australiaโ€™s EV and hybrid surge really playing out on these inner-city streets.

The occasional diesel or petrol engine was almost jarring by contrast.

Havenโ€™t been on much social media at all in weeks due to this device and also cut back on a lot of my online shopping via apps.

I have been missing my friends that I can only contact through these platforms due to long distance.

You can BYO modem to most ISPs as they arenโ€™t network locked (except for TPG group including iiNet need a special vlan tag in the modem settings last time I checked). Still recommend ditching Optus because their service is so bad.

Price is higher than Optus, but unlikely you will ever need to contact them any time soon if it is just Optus having CVC spikes (widespread & long-term issue).

The science behind lรผften is fantastic and Iโ€™m giving it a go.

Canโ€™t say Iโ€™m keen on the trend of calling it house burping.

Brick โ€” Take Back Control of Your Screen Time Brick helps you focus and live intentionally. One tap locks your phone so you can reclaim time for what matters most. Works with iPhone & Android.

Just had over a week off addictive social media apps thanks to one of these Brick devices that requires me to physically scan it to un-brick my phone.

Interesting to see how many times I would habitually go to open the apps.

This referral link will get you 10% off.

My life is going well this last month and I get scared of celebrating it in case something bad happens.

All I know is that I didnโ€™t crash land at Christmas, I wasnโ€™t further burned out by the festivities and somehow ready to make things happen almost every day of the break to set up this year.

Wild how many of the โ€œJonesesโ€ weโ€™re told to keep up with are sprinting on a treadmill they only pretend to own. Half of it collapses the moment a paycheque is late or the ASX has another bad day. The performance of wealth is doing a lot more work than the wealth itself.

Ozempic-like drug to be listed on PBS for people with severe obesity The cost of weight loss drug Wegovy will soon be massively subsidised for Australians with severe obesity who have had a stroke or heart attack.

Just ran the numbers in this article. Australians are spending between $1.6 billion and $2 billion a year on GLP-1.

At the end of the day, putting these products on PBS could mean much less is needed for the wider health system for weight-related illnesses.

So wonderful! ๐Ÿ‘ I had given up about 10 years ago when I changed jobs and moved house, but I saw a friend from high school days making progress just doing little bits and made a decision Iโ€™m not going to have anything except bad health if I kept doing nothing to change course.

Pretty happy that I have gone back down from XL shirts to L size and am getting back into shirts I havenโ€™t worn in years. I havenโ€™t โ€˜lost weightโ€™, but this helps me see how going to gym and exercising more has made a real difference for my quality of life.

Depends on what youโ€™re trying to host. Maybe youโ€™re being given a good plated service instead of what you genuinely need. If youโ€™re only using static pages and not running a team of contributors, then you may be better served by deploying on Cloudflare Pages.

You see Adelaide Festival board, we still live in a country where silencing voices is wrong and wonโ€™t be tolerated especially when the voices youโ€™re trying to silence merely have a problem with genocide.

Racism is intolerance towards any race/cultureโ€ฆnot just the one that you support/agree with.

From scourge to saviour: How the sun powered the grid through a heatwave For so long, the pounding sunshine of an Australian heatwave was the grid's biggest threat. It has now become its greatest asset.

Such a beautiful thing to imagine those two going ballistic as the truth bombs drop ๐Ÿคญ

This is so wonderful. Good news this week as well that domestic solar is carrying the grid through the heatwave which would normally need blackouts to cool the substations and transformers.

Granting a sponsor this degree of influence is deeply concerning.

It establishes a precedent that any organisation with enough money could obtain similar power and potentially weaponise it against any community they wish to marginalise.
