I am a little crazy, I have gone to actual in-person debates about municipal ballot initiatives just so I could understand what they were talking about
To be honest I'm deliberately wording it that way to annoy people who make voting/not-voting decisions based on not wanting to be "complicit".
Not voting in a local election is still saying "I'm okay with either side for this one," but that could simply be because it simply doesn't matter as much.
This is also assuming it's a real election and not a non-binding referendum like in PR.
But anyway, the point is that not voting is a perfectly valid choice if you feel that both candidates have earned your vote and you're happy to be complicit in whatever happens
Not voting in a two-party election is mathematically and morally equivalent to voting for both sides. The message it sends is "I think either candidate would be okay 😊"
