Thank you so much for featuring Nell! :)

March is full of brilliant new Irish books for young readers of all ages, from toddlers to teens. Check them out! Together letβs help children and teens #DiscoverIrishKidsBooks and see themselves on the pages of the books they read.
Please do share these new titles posters widely.
Irish Independent: Man stole three coffee machines in a week from Monaghan department store.
How does he sleep at night?
Interested in writing short stories? I'm teaming up with DLR Libraries to deliver a workshop on the 14th of March all about sharp fiction in a small space.
Come along/spread the word!

Honestly I kind of love the movies for that - I think I'd fight Big Reacher before Lil Reacher, b/c Tom Cruise's intensity is like if you shrank down and pressurised a very large man.
Post Danae Hudlow @danae hudlow Follow 6 I need men to understand: at some point in every conservative gal's life, she will have the experience of sitting and listening to the men around her --men who are her friends -- discuss, in a detached way, whether or not her kind of people (women) should have the right to vote. 9:45 PM Feb 18, 2026494.8K Views
Sounds rough! I avoid this ever happening to me with One Weird Trick
An excellent choice of bookshop and I'm hoping you find it an excellent choice of book - thank you so much for reading!
The postie was good to me again today - not one but three parcels, two of them from the good folk at @kennysbookshop.bsky.social - so that I now have @daveruddenwrites.bsky.socialβs βSister Wakeβ to read just as soon as Iβm done with Sally Smithβs βA Case of Life and Limb.β #BookSky
Authors who teach online courses - I'd love to pick your brains!
I do all mine through organisations, and I'm tempted to start something that's a bit more regulated and routine so I always know which days of the week are teaching days, if that makes sense.
Sound off in the replies!
Thank you so much! (it may take until my next birthday to recover from all the nice food and celebrating)
BIRTHDAY CHEEKINESS DEPLETED
It's my birthday weekend!
Which has empowered me to be extremely cheeky now and say that if you enjoyed SISTER WAKE and feel like giving me a lil birthday present, getting to 50 reviews on Amazon is incredibly important for a book's reach and every one helps - even a rating and a couple of words!
I love how fundamentally traumatised every character on DS9 is, and the journey they go on to manage it.
Garak leans into his role as mistrusted foreigner, Kira oscillates between freedom fighter and politician, Odo was poked and prodded his whole life and what does he become? A literal brownshirt.
The Darkisle returns on March 5th!
Come and raise a glass to curses, otter kings, and scrappy kids from Trim who have to save the world...
Our launch will be in the gorgeous @booksupstairs.bsky.social and it would be lovely to see you there - please spread the word to Darkisle fans of all ages!
I really think even if the wider Marvel universe didn't exist, there's enough in X Men and mutants as a concept that it could support an entire comics universe by itself.
I'm popping some of my tips from the fantasy writing classes I teach on r/fantasy writers - one on voice and one on general approach, sharing them here too in case people find them useful!

Literary hunk @daveruddenwrites.bsky.social is on @mattcooperlastword.bsky.social right now talking about his cultural faves and I LOVE it #SisterWake
Apologies folks, I got my times wrong and that interview will actually go out this evening around 6 and is listenable back on the @todayfm.bsky.social site!
(but I was unexpectedly elegant and also jammed in a Shirley Jackson reference, so worth it I hope...)
Hopping on @todayfm.bsky.social at 15.30 to talk Culture Club and formative media! Expect a lot of Buffy references...
This is so lovely to see, thank you for the shout-out! :D
Just ONE signed copy left of Sister Wake by Dave Rudden

'A powerful saga that draws the reader into the darkest chambers of Irish mythology, full of inventiveness and vigour.'
A gorgeous review of SISTER WAKE in @meathchronicle.bsky.social today!
Thank you Colm and @dublinsouthfm.bsky.social for this lovely interview about books, process, and even a short reading from SISTER WAKE!

Just boosting this again. Please do have a listen - leave a comment / like if you can.
Perfect for fans of Goosebumps, Jennifer Killick and pro-wrestling kaiju (I promise it'll make sense after) Time to weather the Darkisle once again!

It's turning into kind of a busy week!
I am delighted to share the cover of DARKISLE II: NELL ON EARTH, illustrated by the gorgeous @aeadraws.bsky.social, out this World Book Day!
If you liked CONN OF THE DEAD, this has;
- even more jokes
- a new scrappy hero
- a ravenous, T-Rex-sized otter
It's amazing what starting meds has done for a) my productivity as a writer and b) my ability to not go looking for novelty every 34 minutes!
You're not far off - I based it on Carlingford! The bay, the history, and the distance were all incredibly helpful in the design process. Definitely far enough - you'll hear her coming at least...
Absolutely - biting your tongue or disparaging yourself so you can pass with a minimum of conflict. A friend of Native American descent told me once about her mam (I think) being advised to just tell people she was Italian instead, as it would be safer and easier. Horrible, but very common I think.
