I combined your #geometrynodes setup with a simplified version of mine in the same #b3d scene. I fed them both the same geometry, same noise texture for displacement and same distance value to check against. The result is identical in both setups, except that mine is way lighter.

Clever system. I usually just cover the gaps with a full 3D viewport preview of the result. You could also record 2 separate videos simultaneously, one for the node editor, the other for 3D view. I've tested this setup, but never actually used it until now.
