oh man SO agree but havenβt found the words like you said βthe good thing should be part of the small thingβ π―
also
in this example the βfully rendered image of the gliderβ isnβt what makes it good, itβs βhow it feels to find ways to climb high and then jump offβ or solely βthe freedom it affordsβ
for a lot of reasons itβs gonna be hard to top this movie for me in the near future
Here is an excerpt from my conversation with @perfecthatgames.com about PONYO for The Complete Catalog: Studio Ghibli. Links in quoted post!

We just released the 2025 Impact Report for Game Devs of Color. It's 39 pages of what we accomplished in 2025, since founding, and priorities for 2026 and beyond. Grateful to work with such a brilliant team.
The 2026 GDoCExpo is Sep 22 - 25, with speaker & game applications opening late Feb!
"The temperature in Minneapolis is dangerously high. There is an urgent need for the federal agents deployed to the city to step back and take a breath before more Americans are hurt or killed. [Highlighted]: Those protesting the Trump administration have an equal obligation to avoid violence.
This is from the NYT masthead editorial about the murders of Renee Good and Alex Pretti. The highlighted line invalidates not just the editorial, but the very idea of newspaper editorials crafted by the consensus of a board. Better to publish nothing at all than to publish a line like this.
TLD is the game I keep coming back to for all these reasons, such a beautiful game crafted by a beautiful team. ty & cant wait for Blackfrost βοΈβοΈ
great read.....and loved seeing @radiatoryang.bsky.social featured in this π
Video games wield such a weird position culturally, because they can have the capacity to be just a fidget toy for the most childish people on the planet, and also have the capacity to be the most peak form of art to ever exist, if done well.
Anyway, appreciate the convo....I know its an impossible conversation with the way the rules are right now, but I do think its improvable......
They removed being "pushed out" still being a catch, β . If the ball is pinned or help caught with the ground, no catch β . The rest is absolutely a toss up, and a game based around throwing a catching a ball needs to have ONE rule for this.
I just feel like if they say that play is good and Cooks' isnt, that is a problem. I know this is the case, and the rules are weirdly different for Endzone line, OB line, in play---but that is what I think is problematic and needs to be changed.
I really appreciate the thoroughness of your reply, thank you. I realized though *maybe we are talking about different Adams catches.....for me its the sideline dart catch. He clearly does not have posession until he is headed out of bounds, and by then his feet are not touching the ground.
would genuinely love, not trolling in the least, a breakdown of why both were?β-and iβm assuming βbothβ is B.Cooks and D.Adams? ty π«Άπ»
so incredible. rewatched it today and when the camera pans to Kmet I 100% still expected the end zone to be empty lol. sorry for ur loss, lots of future hope, really fun season (many more)
