Why am I squeezing in a conference before I go on medical leave? Because it's my favorite conference of the year. These are the people I want to be with when so many things are going wrong. For those of you who aren't at @socialismconference.org, here are some remarks I shared today.

Social Distancing & Outdoor Space at Socialism 2025: The conference schedule will have ample opportunities for attendees to go outdoors for breaks between sessions. We encourage attendees to hold group meet-ups and gatherings outdoors in order to minimize the risk of infection.

COVID-19 TESTING: All attendees are encouraged to test themselves for COVID-19 prior to making their way to the conference. Free tests will also be available on site.
Before you travel to the conference, we ask all attendees to take a rapid Covid test. If you test positive, we ask that you stay home for the safety of all conference participants.
Masking at Socialism 2025: Attendees are required to wear a mask (N95 or K95) over their mouth and nose while indoors at the conference. Masks will be provided for those who do not have a mask.
Over the last few years, the Socialism Conference is grateful that attendees have kept each other safe by wearing masks indoors throughout the conference weekend, specially helping to ensure that the conference was accessible to immunocompromised and otherwise especially vulnerable comrades.
