From the Athletic’s MLS survey, D.C. United’s Audi Field is the worst of the soccer-specific stadiums and its training facility ranks low (though not the lowest, which is a bit surprising given its size, location, overuse and general cheapness).

When I started covering DC United in 2011, coverage was robust - MLS had its own beat writer (my dear friend @cboehm.bsky.social), I provided granular coverage for DCist, Black & Red United went further - and Goff, a real legend, covered the club like a big league team.
They now have no coverage.
Crestfallen and f$&@ furious about the closure as we know it of @postsports.bsky.social by an indifferent, compromised owner and a failing publisher — a dept of Povich and Boswell, Wilbon and Kornheiser, Gildea and Sheinin, of poets, authors, Hall of Famers and Pulitzer finalists. A terrible day.
Also expecting DCU to waive left back David Schnegg (34 MLS matches, 32 starts in 1.5 seasons) and forward Dominique Badji (30 games, 9 starts, 2 goals in 1.5 seasons).

DCU scored 30 goals in 34 matches this year.

Sources telling me that DC United has cut the entirety of its scouting department as the club continues its overhaul under new sporting director Erkut Sogut & head coach Rene Weiler. Assitant GM Caleb Shreve among those let go (that bit first reported by my guy @tombogert.bsky.social the other day.)
Erkut Sogut — who has no GM/TD/SD experience — is apparently a near-lock to get what is arguably the most difficult GM job in MLS (a rubble-clearing job that will take years, with a boiling-mad fanbase, and an ownership that has fired its last 2 GMs after less than 2 years).
