The fact that Kissinger outlived Bourdain isn't the ONLY reason I know the universe is a cruel and unjust place, but it's definitely up there.

I have a purple set that I use exclusively to reach stuff. π
IS THIS WHAT GREAT LOOKS LIKE I AM UNCLEAR
I would give someone many many dollars to be submerged up to my neck in near-dangerously hot water right now. I am so tired of being cold in my bones.
Welp. I guess it's a good thing F1 starts this weekend because the college basketball season is over.
Bring on the Prancing Horses.
Not a #GDTBATH
That worked. Thanks! π
I'm on deadline so no watching until the weekend, but I'm just so glad it's back. As much as I love Oscar, I have a hard time pulling from McLaren so I really need Ferrari to get their act together. I was hoping for a good year for Alonso but that looks right out.
Don't you DARE get my hopes up. Don't you DARE.
Something something frying pan and fire, except the pan and fire are both soulless and also the dumbest mfers you could possibly pick. Like, screen door on a submarine, softball with a live grenade sort of stupid.
Yes this is a DHS post.
During a rehearsal, I got stuck in the bathroom at Radio City because Frank Sinatra was in the building for some reason related to the death of Richard Nixon earlier in the day. As he didn't want to be disturbed, we couldn't be on the floor until he left. Sad Sinatra trapped me in the bathroom.
I can't stand their coffee but I will defend to the death the right of a Newport-smoking mom pushing a stroller while drinking an iced coffee in 12 degree weather screaming outside a Price Chopper to drink it.
Best use of Mazzy Star literally ever.
Every time I see a post like this, I think back to the writing samples that I had my students study when we were reviewing psychosis and dementia diagnoses. If I saw this from a client, I would deem it "clinically significant".
I still don't understand how the 25th hasn't been invoked.
A description of family life the late 18th century that hangs in the People's Museum in Edinburgh, Scotland. Found this description of 18th century life in an Edinburgh slum to be pretty fascinating. Take a quick peek at the health conditions at the bottom. #MAHA amirite? (Details in alt text)
This is true. Based on what I've learned living here, a LOT of that organizing happened in bars...
Sometimes you just need some good news in the feeds, and the joy I'm seeing from F1 fans about this news makes me so happy. I need all the Bernie Collins I can get in these dark times.
A photo of the stage from a concert for the band Interpol in which they use lighting to recreate the cover of their freshman album "Turn On The Bright Lights ". The stage is largely with four white dots across the top, and you can see a large crowd and a sound board in the bottom right of the photo.
From the December '24 show at Roadrunner where they cleverly recreated the cover of the album. I see them every chance I get.
I am delighted to tell you that Interpol still brings it entirely during every live show (TOTBL remains one of the best albums ever written).
Dear Universe - just fuckin stop it already. @carolinaregulators.bsky.social and I are not down for this.
Hey @nbcnews.com was she a "woman" when it happened? Because I tend to call a **thirteen year old** a GIRL or a CHILD. You might have mentioned that in the headline, not just in the article. Seems relevant that her accusations were related to an event that happened when she was a child, not a woman.
Oh I'm from the States - I'm visiting, and while people haven't been ugly or vitriolic about it, they have made it clear that they will not be visiting anytime soon (to say the least).
I am literally sitting in Reykjavik as I respond to this post, and let me be clear that no one here wants anything to do with anything American, especially not the Dear Leader. The general consensus is that he is as non grata as a persona could be.
My cat's name is Pocket and we've had good luck with Frontline. He doesn't have fleas or anything so maybe try that.
Oh well done. πππππ
A screenshot of an article from The Guardian that shows a lighthouse with an American flag on it on a beach around it by water. The headline is "Wastewater testing reveals high levels of cocaine in Nantucket Massachusetts".
Man, that guy is having all the fun.
NC is consistently getting screwed by corporate interests. Between Duke Power's coal ash, Dow/Chemours "Gen X" (my parents' water is unsafe to drink) and *literal shit*, the water in much of the state is toxic and dangerous. NC deserves better.
My 15-year-old niece who has epilepsy is already despairing the fact that she can't drive. She lives in a part of the country where it's essential. We've already discussed that living in a transit-oriented city is perhaps one of the best ways for her to have the independence she truly wants.
Hey, the water isn't drinkable in plenty of places in the state anyway... Might as well get some use out of it. π
I mean, the bar is so so low right now for being a moderately decent human, and yet these folks are so far below it they couldn't find it with a map. I get that every generation looks ahead with some concern, but truly... The path forward is bleak.
