Casting Directors like @sarasecora.com listen to a lot of demos. A LOT OF DEMOS. 😆😭 And through the process, they develop a sense of what they like and what they don't - generally for themselves as well as industry-wide.

3 years ago, I released The Anywhere Voice Actor on Amazon. I made it because there was a gap in available information about remote voice acting, especially in a post-Covid landscape. 👀 I’m working on another non-fiction book for the VO industry, more details coming soon.
My goal with sharing this info is transparency. Keeping the ladder down. And while my booth might not be a low budget friendly option, it might be an informational read that can help you find the booth specs you need for your own project and budget. 💜
When I went to a prebuilt booth company, they quoted me over $20k for a booth with limited options. 😩
This led me to feel pretty helpless. I needed certain specs that were ending up to be the price of a new car! That’s why I ended up deciding to go with fully custom booth.
While this booth isn’t the most affordable option out there, it is good to keep knowledge about building a quality booth available freely. Entry should be viable for remote talent! During my research, I really noticed how this information isn’t widely out there.
Next week I’ll begin building my new booth in this remodeled room! I plan to document the entire process: from planning to building, while also compiling an itemized breakdown of the specs and costs.
