There are many other ways the education system reflects societal problems and especially employment (teachers as bosses, the school-prison pipeline etc) but that's not the focus of these posts, bedtime abolition is.

This is also done within the school day as can be seen with teachers being able to deny students from using the bathroom during class and the rigid, uncompromising timetable of school reflecting a 9-5.

People mock bedtime abolition but it's one of the examples of how, from a young age, capitalism trains us to ignore our body's signals and work by its clock, not our own. Often the need for bedtimes is to be awake enough for school, which trains children even more for capitalism.

Being serious though, happy International Women's Day to my fellow multigender women and girls.

I always have to double check when Daylight Savings is because North Americans always throw me off talking about it as if the day they do it is universal.

hell, here's another aspect of queermisia contributing to it that just came to me. Parents kicking their queer kids out. Homelessness or the risk of it can lead us to financial and housing dependence on folks we barely know (an intersection of capitalism contributing too)

There are surely other factors involved that I haven't discussed, but I hope I've gotten my point across: When abuse happens within the trans community, one of the societal systems that enabled it to occur is systemic transmisia (again, probably intentionally).

*It's important to note here that any victim calling out their marginalised abuser is not to blame for anything oppressors do with that information. Transmisogynists would still pedojacket trans women without the actions of Ava Tyson, for example.

Simply: because of systemic transmisia, we're more likely to have smaller support networks which mostly consist of other trans folks. This leaves us more vulnerable to trans abusers and to fear calling them out as it may just hurt ourselves more or the whole community*.

Furthermore, if the abuser is popular online or well-known in local circles, they may be able to victim-blame, DARVO and manipulate others into ostracising you instead. This isn't unique to marginalised groups but discrimination causing smaller communities heightens the risk.

This leaves us more vulnerable to bad actors within our own communities and ofc compounds upon other overarching issues that enable abuse, like systemic racism and ableism. Eg: disabled folks being more likely to be financially abused due to inability to work.

Typical behaviour of wanting to relate combines with these to lead us to trust others within our marginalised groups more as a baseline than those that aren't a part of them on top of fearing calling each other out on dangerous behaviour lest it be used against us collectively.

Discrimination and oppression causes marginalised groups to be more likely to earn less and generally disadvantages us in opportunities to try and change that. That issue only gets worse for those that are multiply marginalised. Interpersonal, social bigotry also plays a factor.
