In the hunt for a good 386 to put on the time line, we found some #demoscene goodness!

A screenshot where Google complains that it can't confirm that the Museum is an adult, and has enabled several safety features that keep kids safe on the Internet.
That's okay Google, we can't confirm *you're* an adult either.
A screenshot of Google Maps displaying a pin for "Frankstown Rd at #12245 (Bloop Museum)".
Apparently editing your place on google maps from a government building to a museum gets your business account suspended π
Anyway, Bloop is hard at work on getting our places in order so it's easier to find us, and recently, PRT renamed our bus stop to include us! Victory!
It's a big room with computers and games, fairly well organized, with some flamboyantly tableclothed tables, red and blue pixelated designs, a big "room-size" univac in the middle, and more!
Our International (up/left) and Arts&Culture (down/right) corners are still being worked on, but they were deemed good enough to open and there's still a lot to see and talk about in those areas. Come take a closer look!
It's our Japan room! Densely populated because I need more shelves, there's Sharp, Fujitsu, NEC, MSX, Nintendo vs Sega, and more obscure stuff to see. I went for a wood-and-white theme, just like those Japanese house pictures you see.
It's a 1982 living room! With the exception of the cheap pacman rug I ordered, I think we hit the mark on this one. Everyone had that brown/orange plaid 80s couch, console TV, Atari 2600, and computer hutch. You can also see a Wurlitzer jukebox sneaking into the bottom of the photo.
Bloop Museum version 0.7 is now OPEN!
Today is "Walk-in Wednesday" and the first day that we're open all day from 10am to 6pm. Swing on by, #PennHills and #PGH folks! Time to show you all the cool stuff we're working on.
A woman in a jacket covered in patches for metal bands, painting a bathroom door with a paint roller. The door was the color of expired Pepto Bismol, and will soon be a maroon shade
A man in a beige shirt has painted the other bathroom door with the same shade of maroon paint and is now working on the trim with a paintbrush
Code clearance bonanza! Bloop version 0.7 is about ready to go. The #museum had a few problem areas that we are cleaning up over the course of the next month to get to 1.0. In the meantime, we're going to try and pass code. #PGH #Pittsburgh #tech
be careful not to list that wireless controller next to the games - that's a real rare one!

I'm fairly convinced at this point that the secret to longevity is a nice hot shower. In 2024, I went to @revision-party.bsky.social for one and wrote a song about it...

Inspired by leinad, it's also a @bloopmuseum.bsky.social shill.

nice! truly bummed that the SMS(1) is an inch or two too wide for a cube
Bloop is just shy of $100 from $300K all time donations!

A view out Bloop's front door. Slightly more snow has been removed from our last post.
A view from the previous photo to the street. One vehicle can enter the parking lot. We are hoping that vehicle will be the mail carrier and our other couriers.
A view up the hill to the street from our other parking lot. Again, there is basically room for one car to go up or down the hill: Us.
YOU ARE IN A TWISTY MAZE OF PASSAGEWAYS, ALL DIFFERENT
perspective view into our snow shoveling path from our front door, but we've barely started The snow is over a foot deep.
YOU ARE IN A MAZE OF TWISTY LITTLE PASSAGES, ALL ALIKE.
A snowy scene of the street in front of the museum, which is barely visible. A lamp post, tree, and sign for the bus stop are in the foreground. Another parking lot is in the background.
Weather report from the museum
so glad you're archiving all this - let's build a display for some of the stuff you've preserved or include some of it at bloop!
Doing any hax for it? π
We have three language variants you can play with at Bloop!
Yeah, Selectavision was a name for a whole line of RCA products. For example, we have a selectavision VHS VCR. But people tend to remember the CED discs the most, so that's often a nickname for them.
The RCA format is called CED, and they're vinyl records that aren't writable. Laservision is Philips/Pioneer/MCA, also known as Laserdisc, Laser videodisc, CD-Video (CDV), and Discovision.
For pro/commercial markets, there are disc recorders for both.
Badge 2000 for Games Done Quick screenshot!
Shout-outs to @gamesdonequick.com which is already underway. Not a low badge number but still a cool one!
Brendan's doing a late night #AGDQ2026 panel about how he ended up running #MAGFest back in the day and then Bloop #Museum, and doing Q&A - come on by Friday night at 10PM!

Just wanted to comment and say I'm truly honored by everyone who has supported this year - our newsletters and posts make this look like we have this all planned out - and while there is definitely a plan, this has been a very difficult move. Thanks for hanging with us and sharing our news!
Bloop got a donation match!
Donations before the end of 2025 will be doubled by an anonymous donor - up to $10,000! See comments.

The cargo space of a Toyota Prius hatchback with 20 of the 27-gallon black totes β we call them bumblebees β surrounded on all sides by the yellow lids that accompany them.
β20 totes a-packingβ isn't really a lyric to 12 days of Christmas but it IS the most we've ever stuffed into the Prius!

Looking forward to putting a physical copy of this in the museum! Who wrote the music by the way? π
You are standing at a curved table looking directly at some white shelving behind the tables. An Atari 800 and second VIC-20 are connected to TVs on the table, and a boxed Atari 400 and VIC-20 are on the shelves. Also visible to the left and right are a Commodore PET, Apple II, TRS-80, TI-99, IBM PC, Commodore 64, Macintosh, and you can barely see an Atari ST and Amiga 1000 around the bend to the right. There are red and green uplights accenting the furniture and red and blue carpet mats in front of the tables. There are no ceiling tiles but a little fairy told me they're coming soon.
Happy #Holidays from the #museum! Our timeline is almost fully populated and we're building out exhibits as fast as we can. Check out the cool lighting from one of our volunteers!

Yep, we're in NTSC land out here.
I think it's a KV-13FS100? Will double-check
it currently plays period-appropriate prog-jazz

Picked up a cute little TV, what do y'all think?
