I’ve been calling this ‘heterogeneous networks’, to contrast with P2P and federation which both assume a certain homogeneity in computer capabilities and resources. We need networks with specialization and coordination across them. One of the many reasons I’m so excited both at proto!

I’m guessing there’s a website or agency or something behind this spate of suspiciously high-touch-and-similar-designed small businesses. Maybe a weird ad agency that has turned into a kind of micro VC?

I want to re-emphasize that this is a small local business. It looks like they’re trying to copy the ‘fancy boutique single-product business and website’ model that I’ve noticed on some instagram and tik tok ad-content, but adapted for IRL businesses?

I’m going with it because I just want to see what happens at this point.
