#MercuryRetrograde Some cop from Daytona is allegedly calling me and texting for something. Definitely have the wrong number, bro.
It can't just be tech. We're worshipping a rickety god of our own making. And in the process, I read on here more and more pubs are getting rid of talking about culture.
Culture breeds tech, not the other way around.
I just feel culturally lost and I don't want drown in nostalgia.
I think part of this is incels and losers talking about -maxxing when they look terrible. Maybe I miss open button-ups (which interestingly became tightened western button-ups and pants). The clothing just seems easier to move in? Even bell bottoms. But IDK what this century is supposed to BE.
The 21st century feels like retread culturally and it's pissing me off.
Looking at early 2000s fashion (because I'm basically going through Juanes' discography from the beginning), we were so into like 60s/70s fashions. It's not (yet) coming back. I miss it but not? I'm torn because I was kinda born in that era, too. Hm. youtu.be/kMIaYXxLnUA...
Some, but not like they do in Florida where it's even more necessary. But I should double check if they've changed their policies. A couple of weeks ago, I saw a map of all these fires, small ones. But there was a bigger fire near here that was not a prescribed burn. Either way, sign of the times.

Day 2 of Daylight Saving Time:
Oh, and it's been hella foggy. SMDH. I will miss the sun.
As a Saturnian, the idea of throwing away time is very painful to me. The lack of patience that is connoted by Daylight "Saving" Time is offensive to me personally, as if we aren't gaining daylight every day since the Winter Solstice.
I can't wait to abolish DST. It will happen.
So basically, this week's weather is cosplay Seattle until Friday. Depressing, but I hope the rain helps with the drought and whatever fires are still burning around here (weird to say that fires are burning in Alabama but they are or were).
Yep, agreed. I'm a huge fan of brutalism and Chicago has a lot of it. BUT as a friend who is from a former USSR country told me, it's different if that's all you see and you live in a brutalist place. I can like it from a distance or even stay there in the library all day and then leave.
And Hyde Park/Jackson Park has elegance. Chicago architecture. SO many beautiful buildings. That library I mentioned? Another one was built next to it and it's STUNNING. I've been in there during Golden Hour and it's just so beautiful. Opened in 2011. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_and...
I think it was like some July 4th thing or something last year and they were debuting these graphics on the Washington Monument, and I'm like, this is definitely reflective of DJT's lack of taste and those who like him. Also just reflective of white America in general.
I just looked at its completion and as someone who used to live around there, it doesn't matched the neighborhood vibe at all, and there is some brutalism on UChicago's campus (one of my favorite libraries). But then no one really wanted it down there anyway. I expected smaller elegance.
IDK when they designed it but I'm not surprised, considering everything. I haven't seen good design about this anniversary at all. All bad.

Also, the asymmetry of her saying โIโd never ask a tourist who they voted forโ, its really unlikely an American is ever going to deal with another person whoโs vote has as much impact on their daily realities as the American president has on the rest of the world.
Just like how not discussing wages at work is a grift that only helps your mortal enemy, the person that benefits the most from paying you as little as possible, your employer.
Her vote aside, among white people across the political spectrum, it IS taboo to talk openly about their politics.
This is a grift designed to maintain white supremacy across political divide. To keep them communing along whiteness with their enemies & ideological opponents.
someone at the pentagon frantically typing โClaude, open the strait of Hormuz for me, quickest possible strategy, make no mistakes.โ
Open the year-round schools, now.
But wait, have these people never been read to? And this sounds main character syndrome, illiteracy strain.
My WIP is 1st person limited and it's hard, because it's hard to do it right. But as a reader, sometimes you don't want to be stuck in someone's head.
I wish we had actual moral leadership.
10 shots, whoa. SMDH.
๐ซSending you both good vibes.
I'm so sorry you're going through it with your kid. I hope she gets the helps she needs.
Whoa. Scary.
Folks, you know how touring is incredibly hard to do for bands these days for any number of reasons?
Now imagine gas prices going up even further.
