Think of a long haul economy flightโฆ and then times it by 4 ๐
Just very sore, especially in my back, bum and feet (surprisingly) And then add 4 days of not necessarily less hours of sleep, just in small intervals of poor quality ๐ด

Looks are deceiving I guess ๐คฃ
Gonna take a while to make! So much footage to look through ๐ญ๐
By FlixBus ofc ๐
Flying direct to Copenhagen in a few days โ๏ธ๐
5500+ km and 107 hours later, welcome to Lisbon ๐ต๐น๐
6 minutes ahead of schedule too!
Not much else to say really, off to the hotel ๐ค
I didnโt, it wasnโt offered. I think it might be a bug caused by the Zurich to Lisbon leg not having assigned seating at all.
I could reserve seats on the other segments though, just not an empty one next to me.
Quick rest stop right on the SpanishโPortuguese border ๐ช๐ธ๐ต๐น
Ultimately Iโm only doing this because my inner masochist and content creator thought it was a powerful combo ๐
Thereโs a LisbonโLviv bus resting here, which actually is a reasonable way to reach Ukraine given the current situation. Ouch
Funny enough the first time I tried flix was in Croatia and the bus simply didn't show up ๐
Better luck on this trip in that regard :D
Hotels booked, hopefully the bed is comfy ๐ด
2/2
The first 3 buses were run by dedicated flix subsidiaries with 2-person crews swapping every 8โ10 hours.
The Lisbon route, however, seems fully subcontracted out both bus and staff wise simply running under the Flix brand, also 3-person crews not swapping throughout.
1/2 All the FlixBuses I saw in Finland were Flix-branded and operated by Flix Estonia on Estonian plates (there were 4 parked at Helsinki Harbour).
There doesnโt seem to be much consistency in how Flix operates across countries. It seem to vary a lot by route and country.
Morning from the โInternational Connection Pointโ near Palencia ๐ช๐ธ
A big hub-and-spoke operation runs here, with buses from all over Europe meeting before heading off to other parts of the Iberian Peninsula.
My bus is now going to Porto? So weโve now been moved onto a different bus for Lisbon.
My non-confrontational Scandinavian ass could not get me to do that ๐
Really looking forward to checking into my hotel, having a shower, and then passing out. Gonna feel like the best reward ever ๐
24h to go to Lisbon!
Started in Zurich, crossed the snowy Alps, and now watching the sunset by the Mediterranean coast ๐
Feeling very exhausted tbh, only one rest stop, very aggressive driving, and another passengers thinking itโs acceptable to do a long video group call on loudspeaker in the bus๐คจ
FlixBus FINAL BOSS ๐ The 36 hour long Zurich to Lisbon!
Canโt say I loved that 3h30m layover in the middle of the night but onboard now and Iโm ready for a nap ๐ด
Despite being the last bus, thereโs still 1/3 of the overall journey to go and this is the longest single leg, beating ๐ซ๐ฎ to ๐ต๐ฑ by 1h!
Quick sightseeing side quest up to Vรญtkov Hill, grabbed a nice lunch menu special + beer at a Masarykovo pub ๐บ Great few hours in ๐จ๐ฟ
Now onto the first double decker bus of the trip, 10h35m to Zurich. Arrival is at a brutal 02:35 and the next bus isnโt until 06:00โฆ could be a very long night ahead ๐ข
Good morning from the Czech Republic ๐จ๐ฟ
Weโre now 50+ hours into the journey basically halfway there! This bus had loads of recline, so I actually managed some OK sleep again.
More rest will be needed though, as a middle of the night layover is coming up soon ๐ด but first, a couple of hours in Prague๐
Quick visit to the city center and now weโre back on the road ๐
Next up the shortest overall leg of the trip just 10h5m to the Czech capital Prague!
Compared to the bus from Finland this one should absolutely fly by, if I can manage to sleep through most of it ๐
Goodnight ๐
No, I'm doing it only for the fun of it. (Yes it will be a video, will take a while to edit tho)
35+ hours in and about 1/3 through the trip. First bus ride completed โ
๐
Got ~6 hours at Warsaw Airport before the next bus taking me to Prague. Backโs sore, but somehow managed 10 hours of sleep in 1-hour intervals, so actually not feeling too tired ๐
Now to spend the layover in the city center
Varies based on demand and stuff I paid 230 euro.
Not sure what I'm gonna spend on food and stuff, but the ticket itself was not super cheap. 230 euro.
Change of crew in Helsinki / Tallinn, Vilnius and Warsaw later. Teams of 2 that drive 2-3 hours each and then switch.
Definitely mostly passengers doing "random" shorter and medium journeys. No one that got on in Rovaniemi is still on apart from me!
About 10 degrees on this bus at least!
Roughly 24 hours in and weโve made it to Panevฤลพys, Lithuania ๐ฑ๐น
Slept like shit, as expectedโฆ but weโre not due into Warsaw until around 6pm, so there should be plenty of opportunities for a few recovery naps ๐
๐
I'm taking plenty of video, but I do note the temperature for the major stops
Made it to Tallinn ๐ช๐ช and the bus was already waiting on the other side of the ferry terminal.
Itโs indeed not the same bus as the one from Finland but luckily this one actually has more legroom ๐
Right, time to try and catch some sleep ๐๐ค
About 12 hours into the journey and weโre โkicked offโ the bus in Helsinki to get the ferry to Tallinn ๐ข
So far itโs not too badโฆ but Iโm sure after a nightโs sleep on the bus, things might start to feel very different ๐
Itโll be interesting to see if itโs the same bus waiting for us in Tallinn ๐
7 hours and 500km later, it's time for refueling! Still many hours to go before we will reach Helsinki!
Breakfast time ๐ซ๐ฎ
