and no spoilers but while i make it a rule to not take resident evil story very seriously, i think this game has some Really Stupid reveals and retcons that kind of cheapen the stories of the previous games in the series they call back to.

for how much they made a big deal of going back to raccoon city it sure is an ugly samey location compared to the care center

i also decided i don't like the way the game jumps back and forth between them, i think the gameplay styles are far too different to feel cohesive together. it's always jarring when it changes. i think having them as two separate campaigns would have been better compared to how disjointed it feels

ngl i think re9 kinda really falls off once it becomes the leon kennedy show in the last half... while i'm a little over the hide-and-seek stuff grace's sections were still more of what i want out of an re game and the leon stuff doesn't feel nearly as tight and well designed as it did in re4 remake

i find most games that get championed as The Hardest Games Ever really aren't lol, and that's why they're popular. people do lvl 0/no weapon/no damage runs of fromsoftware games all the time, you just gotta learn the game

I feel a lot of younger artists nowadays are in the path of permanent wrist damage and burnout with the amount of stuff they feel almost obligated to make in order to feel like they are still relevant and present on peoples timelines.
I was like that with comms, and all I got was damage on my body.

I think the biggest damage to the art community was the obsolescence of gallery sites (y!, deviantart, etc) and the rise of scroll-by social media, like twitter and even tumblr. Art is not ''content'', you shouldnt need to post art every day (or every month!) to be relevant. This mindset sucks.
