Beep21's latest Sega hardware history feature is a big one: they spoke to engineers Junichi Naoi & Hiroshi Yagi about "TRIP", the little-discussed, never-released SH-3 accelerator expansion for Saturn https://note.com/beep21/n/n5cf486789ca5 (🇯🇵, paywalled)
CD cover featuring a saxophone with motion blur as though it's flying through space. The album title is "Saxphone: Saxphone In My Heart".
I've made a lot of fun thrift store finds over the years, but I don't think anything's ever beaten "Saxphone: Saxphone In My Heart". Just look at that cover. Perfection.

Woww, that looks good
This is a solid set!
A Siamese cat, that's not really trapped, inside two plastic bins. She looks at the camera with a pitiful expression while meowing, one paw is pressed up against the plastic wall.
The Crime: Being Annoying while I'm cleaning

Having to remind myself that "she's just a little girl / with power inside" and "Cookie's a little girl" are two different memetic video game songs
Screenshot of Radirgy Swag: an anime girl, in her home/office. The cursor has highlighted a fax machine labelled “orders”. Her dialogue reads: There's a fax machine on the sofa. I had to visit so many junk stores to get one. Use this to check your progress in the Orders from work.
Even in the future we can't get away from the fax machine…
Got it, thanks everyone!
Do I know anyone who has Photoshop? I've got a ca-2009 .psd with effects that won't render in the software I've got at hand, and could use help exporting a few different version of it as PNGs.
Which btw I think leads into the other bit of advice: if you see a post on "Tech4gamers" or whatever, some site with a nothing name you've never heard of, maybe you shouldn't share that as evidence that something's really happening.
It's very good advice, I think!
But it took the rewrite on an AI content farm to make it really blow up, since *that* version was alarmist and specifically structured to get widely shared on social media. The PC World link made it *sound* like it was authoritative, despite being a rewrite of a rewrite of an unsourced article.
The original article in German on PC Welt wouldn't have trended since it was in German. Then it got roughly translated into English for PC World, and *that* version gave it the veneer of respectability despite being conjecture with absolutely no sourcing.
Incidentally I do think that Windows 12 situation is interesting as an example of how this stuff gets laundered into social media bait. It was a multi-step process!
Yes I’m subskeeting several things right now. It turns out plenty of people have retained alarmist Twitter user behaviour over here too
My personal request: if you see a headline that makes you feel a strong emotion, you should think about whether it’s actual for at least 20 seconds before reposting or typing out your opinion

a lot of you are hesitating to update to macOS 26, which is too bad, because i'm over here making my new best friend: foldy
Yesss, nice! Excited to see you've worked on this one too.
Now that it's out, it may not surprise you to know that I was part of the team to localise this game, just like with Karous! I was on FIRE when translating some of the lines here - hope you enjoy the new English version!

Well, sorry, I did my best to trim it. Full version on tumblr www.tumblr.com/compactdisci...
Whoops, that last video I queued up for @cd-i.bsky.social didn't post because bsky is the only one of the three sites it crossposts to that caps videos to 180 seconds. Can I trim this.......
It's one of the few Milestone/RS34 soundtracks that's actually available on digital storefronts, so it's pretty easy to track down at least.
Really good read! It's nice seeing this game get a fairer shake from someone who's willing to dig into the mechanics, both the issues and the stuff that's interesting.
This also has one of my fave Radirgy soundtracks, but it's definitely not one where people talk about the music often.
New blog post time!
This week's game is Radirgy de Gojaru!, the bite-sized Japan-only 3DS entry that's based on a mode from the Xbox 360-exclusive Radirgy Noa Massive. Such an odd approach didn't earn it any favors at the time, but I found some fun in visiting it now and laying out all the details:
Sorry I've literally only been posting about Cookie's Bustle today. True bustleheads get it
In celebration of Cookie's Bustle Day, I'm breaking the entire protocol I've been setting up behind the scenes and, I suppose, officially launching my VOD channel. Please enjoy a full stream of the English translation for Cookie's Bustle: Mysterious Bombo World. www.youtube.com/watch?v=AxKd...
