Non-Star Wars? Probably:
I put together a list of movies my youngest kid (10) and I have enjoyed together. Iβm always scratching my head thinking of stuff for us to watch so I figured you all might be interested, too. Iβll keep adding to it, too. So, here it is: boxd.it/T385K

Harper to the judge: "Your driver's license doesn't list your height and weight at birth. It doesn't list where you used to live. It identifies who you are now."
That's straight up gaslighting. And no one should put up with that.
And I should be quiet now before I say things I might regret.
But to have conservatives and legislators and keyboard warriors and anonymous folks online try to tell trans kids that they're the problem and are something to fear? And to tell their parents they're abusive and to tell supportive communities that they're the problem?
No.
That's false. 100%
But that's THEIR choice, in tandem with their therapist and doctor. Not mine. I'm going to love them however they are. Because that's my job as their parent.
I'll obviously put my foot down and say no if it's something foolish that will hurt them or cause damage. This isn't that, though.
We've talked about puberty blockers, even if it means traveling to another state to get them (thanks moralizing legislators) but those are safe and reversible if they decide they want to stop at any time (if they even wanna start 'em) and they've been used safely for more than half a century.
These folks will scream the most horrible things, like that I'm mutilating my kid's genitals, or surgically altering them... And it's like... obviously none of that is happening. That's absurd. They're just feeding into that machine of propaganda and they literally have no idea what they're saying
I'd post about them more and share how cool with the world if I could, but like... That's just dangerous for them. Especially in a world as dangerous for trans folks as it is.
And it's dangerous because of all this transphobic propaganda used to score political points for elites and control sheep
There are nights I've gone to bed crying, thinking about the kids like mine who don't have parents that love them unconditionally. Who think that just letting them be who they are is abuse. And I hold my kid tighter. Because they're rad. My kid is seriously the coolest and I love 'em so fucking much
What those folks saying I'm abusing my kid are really saying are that I'm somehow abusing my kid by NOT abusing them like they would.
They would terrorize a kid like that. They would force them to be someone they weren't. They would make their life hell. And that's a damn shame.
I also hate talking about this, because there will be people who send me messages or will screencap this and say I'm abusing my kid because I somehow "did this" to them."
Why? How?
I can't even get them to go to bed on time or do chores reliably, what makes you think I could get them to do this?
Oh No! They want to play sports with other kids!
Guess what! Kids sports don't matter. They just want to play with their friends. Who cares? Make them all co-ed.
Like... None of this is hard. This panic angers me to no end.
And all you had to do for them to thrive was use a different name and pronouns and let them style their hair and clothes differently...?
That's not a big ask at all...
But this is what people are so damned afraid of? They need to get a goddamned grip.
If your kid came to you and said, "Hey, I want my haircut differently and want to wear different clothes," and they'd be 200% happier and their grades went up and they'd stop having social problems at school, why would ANY parent have an issue with that unless they simply didn't love their kid?
That's it! That's all there was to it.
There's no "radical gender ideology" there's no "inculcation" there's no special indoctrination. The kid knew who they were and something was wrong. They had parents and a school supportive enough to let them explore who they were and now they're great.
They're just... kids.
Mine feels more comfortable presenting as a the sex different from the one they were assigned at birth. They struggled with behavior, classwork, and friendships in school until they presented how they were most comfortable. Voila! that stuff went away almost immediately.
It's doubly frustrating as a father of one, just trying to keep them healthy and safe like a normal kid, but with all this panic around them. Navigating it is exhausting, especially since the people most afraid of it have no idea what trans kids are actually like or what they need.
Help me bring the joy of movies to the kids who need it most! @discussingfilm.net @gameinformer.com @empiremagazine.bsky.social @markhamillofficial.bsky.social @jamesgunn.bsky.social @ohnoshetwitnt.bsky.social
I have this theory, too, that part of the reason it took a while for some folks to come around on The Phantom Menace "looking too clean" wasn't that it ACTUALLY looked too clean, it was that they were looking at Star Wars on VHS for too long. That started turning around when Ep1 came out on VHS.
There are movies that don't work in digital formats and I'd petition streamers to add 480 VHS rips of them to their services.
My first nomination: Dragonheart.
There isn't much space left in this workshop and there's still one scholarship left!
Get in while there's a chance!

If we had a proper media, the newscycle stops at "AI leads US to kill 100s of Iranian schoolchildren" and doesnt move on until accountability.
Dismantled. Reined in isnβt far enough. They donβt need anyone in charge if thereβs no department
[SPOILER] the post got deleted by big corp.
