Is there a single world city with a worse arrival experience than NYC? Take your pick: $8.75/head to use the airtrain, plus another $3/head to take the E or ~$5 to take the LIRR. OR: dodge 50 scam taxi touts in order to stand in line for a taxi that claims to be flat-fee but still requires a tip.

I think it's a tall ask to expect a family of 4 with luggage to take the train to the airport generally, but the get-in price for the subway + AirTrain to JFK is now $47.
