Franklin (FL) & I introduced our bipartisan Land Grant Research Prioritization Act, H.R. 7734, which allows land grant institutions to apply for competitive USDA grants to support farm mechanization & agricultural AI applications, invasive species & aquaculture research initiatives.

On Wednesday, I met with veterans who work with Blue Star Families. During the meeting we discussed legislation on which I am working and will introduce that helps military families successfully transition to civilian life.

Yesterday, I met with Eckerd Connects, which is the only non-profit that operates Job Corps centers nationwide, including Turner Job Corps Center in Albany, GA. I am the Co-Chair of the Congressional Job Corps Caucus with Representative Brett Guthrie (R-KY).

It was great visiting Roberta, Americus, & Oglethorpe this past week to present ceremonial big checks to local leaders for projects that I was able to directly secure funding in the recently passed Fiscal Year 2026 federal funding bill for the U.S. Dept. of Housing & Urban Development.
