Thanks for sharing my video! Wait, why is Dave in all caps?!?!
This is getting a second print for all those that missed out on DAVE’s very cool comic
If you’re at #eccc please don’t forget to come to the Basement! A lot of people seem to think there’s only Funko pops and long box comics and blind boxes, but they moved a bunch of indie artists down here too! Don’t miss out!!

“…this comic has a certain air of danger to it, but the best kind of danger in fiction, that feeling that you're experience something sharp, and new.”
Big thanks to @briancronin.bsky.social at CBR for the amazing review!

Sure is! 😵💫
Ah yeah, that definitely happens with ice makers!!!
The top of the review “IS TED OK? is a remarkable new series”
In the 1920s, when the Yankees had a lineup that was famously referred to as "Murderer's Row" (including Hall of Famers Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig batting back-to-back and Hall of Famers Earle Combs and Tony Lazzeri leading off and batting sixth, respectively), Yankees owner, Jacob Ruppert, was asked about what a perfect day at Yankee Stadium would be like. He replied, 'It's when the Yankees score eight runs in the first inning, and then slowly pull away."
That's precisely what you need to do in the first issue of an independent comic book series. You need to score eight runs in the first inning, and then slowly pull away. You need to do the near impossible. You need to capture your reader's attention with something dramatic, but then you need to give them something MORE than that, something to keep them at the proverbial ballpark (as I torture this metaphor to high heaven). And, like I said (when I noted it being "near impossible"), the whole point of Ruppert's quote is that, of course, that's unlikely to happen. You DON'T often score eight in the first, and when you do, you certainly don't "slowly pull away." But it CAN be done.
And Dave Chisholm pulled that feat off in the first issue of Is Ted OK?, right from the cover of the issue, with its striking image of a man on fire. Is Ted OK? #1 is from Dave Chisholm, who wrote, drew, colored, AND lettered the story, and it is a remarkable breath of fresh air, but as anyone who knows how fires work, sometimes a breath of fresh air is precisely what leads to backdrafts (speaking of tortured metaphors, I almost tried to do a headline involving backdrafts and fresh air. My wife nearly smothered me with a pillow to keep that atrocity from seeing print), and so this comic has a certain air of danger to it, but the best kind of danger in fiction, that feeling that you're experience something sharp, and new.
Sorry, I just had to screenshot this opening. Damn! I am so proud of this book. Can’t wait for y’all to read the rest!

I just paid you! Hope you get the $ you need--
My car's start/ignition button needs to be replaced. So I need to get $500 together by the 16th so I can get that done.
Please, buy some commissions so I can get that fixed and buy food.
I took a hammer to some ice buildup behind the crisper and the fan lurched on. 20m later when I left the house, it had dropped by one degree. Fingers crossed.
Thankfully I'm pretty sensitive I guess? It made it up to 44 degrees and I was like...NOPE
Not great to realize your refrigerator isn't cooling when you're on your way out the door to teach a 6-hour class. I don't recommend it, no I don't.
disturbing reports that donald trumps economic policy is exactly as bad as anyone who knows anything said it would be

A large raven in an enclosure. Instead of the usual black, it is white with blue eyes
Today I got to meet a white raven at a wildlife rescue center! This is Opal 💗
I can't visualise things in my head. I close my eyes and all I see is darkness, I imagine concepts and that's what I put down on my canvas and then I work from there.
I'm very done with ppl using it as an excuse to never try-
"you need to learn how to use gAI or you'll get left behind!"

the absolute fastest way to render yourself unemployable is to build your skillset around a tool that does your thinking for you, that everyone has access to, and that one company can change or take away at any time

Thank you so much!
#IsTedOk? #1 by @davechisholmcomics.com. Ted works for the multi-billion dollar corporation, Ayn-Styne. He is under surveillance by Sarah who also works for the company. She has to determine if Ted is actually OK. Great PKD paranoia/surveillance state/alien conspiracy premise.
The cover art for the second printing of the first issue of IS TED OK? Ted sits at his desk drawing intensely and listening to Paganini on his headphones. The image is very pale green in hue except for the red screen. It's constrained by a panel with a cutaway in the lower right corner where the logo appears in white, all over a flat red background.
Beyond hyped to let you all know that the first issue of IS TED OK? is getting a second printing with a new cover!
I'm so tremendously grateful to everyone who bought it, read it, enjoyed it, and helped spread the word about this book. Means the world to me!
