BA and MA Classical Studies although been swinging the lead a bit since. Trying my hand at blogging classicalstudiesman.com but a bit eclectic. Love drama - theatre, tragedy and comedy with a soft spot for reception, sensory studies and women's history

is a common mistake when entering upon a war to begin at the wrong end: rushing first to action, and waiting until you have suffered a disaster to actually pause and think.'

I was only saying yesterday about not learning from history

'Consider the vast influence of accident in war, before you are engaged in one. For the longer a war lasts, the more it becomes an affair of accidents and chances. Twists of fate that none of us can foresee, risks taken in the dark.

Classicalstudiesman Thoughts of an old, Classical Studies fan

I am struggling. I thought new year would help kick start my motivation to write more blog posts but, although I have several started and loads of ideas, I just can't get going. So, I thought I'd pop the blog on here and hope it will shock me into action. #classicalstudies

I really enjoyed Glorous Exploits and have to say certain pages made my jaw drop as I expected the story to take a different path. However, I have to say I enjoyed the Elodie Harper trilogy more (different subject I know).

Today is the festival Dies Natalis Solis Invicti, birthday of Sol Invictus or the 'Invincible Sun' or Yule if you prefer Germanic.
It is the winter solstice and at 3:03 pm the earth’s north pole will be maximum tilt away from the sun
It means that from today the days will be getting longer - yayyy

Small, beautifully formed and packs aΒ punch Some museums can be just like the last one, blending into one another, buildings with rooms of artifacts in display cabinets too close to each other, surrounded by people so it is difficult to get a good view - but not this one. It might not be the biggest but is one of the best, the Corfu Archaeological Museum in Corfu Town.

My latest random thoughts - enjoy

Latest blog post. I am very nervous about this one as I feel it's a bit 'out there' but it is how my mind works sometimes. But then I very much enjoyed thinking about it and writing it and you never know it might not be as barking at I think.. but there again.
