I've never actually played a #Bomberman game but I did once dabble in a similar one called Dstroy that I had a homebrew ROM for on my DS. I always assumed the name was a DS pun but apparently it's existed since the DOS era??

Dstroy was indeed originally from 1995 (1st version) to 1997 (last patch) on Ms-dos PC.
It can be found there nowadays:

We decided to change the Roots-Tournament's mood from Summer to Fall season, to fit better the idea of the old & more simple gameplay, & to have a different visual than the Main Tournament.

Thx. We playtested a little the tutorial along the way, discovering all the loopholes and things the players were trying or doing (while playing normally) in this framed and controlled level, were mistmarizing not to say the least. We hope we have it all covered now! (at least mostly) 😜

Agreed! We humbly discovered that lots of young new gamers never played Bomberman before, and have to be taught the most basic mechanics from our game.
And making a tutorial that is clear, fun and short is not easy either. 😅

After some playtest, it seems a tutorial was needed for beginners, so that's what we did all December and January!
