The Senate must immediately return to session to vote on a war powers resolution. Donald Trump cannot be allowed to continue an unconstitutional, illegal war with Iran.
gawd pete hegseth is doing more for Anthropic's brand than any shitty superbowl ad ever could.
US mens hockey team looked at the pass two months of Heated Rivalry driven reappraisal of the sport and decided to give us a strong reminder why every character on the show feels confident they can't come out while still playing.
Al Green doing the job Schumer and Jeffries refuse to.
Remember Cucumber? Oh itβs gonna be that on steroids.
Everyoneβs worried about AI taking dev jobs but my take is vibe coding will bring back the hipster developer of the late aughts early 2010βs, which is arguably worse.
look LLMs may not be perfect, but you know what I'm terrible at: commit messages. I am quite sure the LLM can't do worse that "stuff"
the tweets vs skeets I see about AOC, from the left, are shockingly different:
twitter: neoliberal AOC-I-A is a fraud Netanyahu Zio psy-op
here: My hero AOC will be our first socialist president!
I'm 100% sure X manipulates tweets shown to left wingers to raise our most destructive tendencies.
I think it's almost inevitable that our jobs will need to change a lot and it need not be awful. But we will absolutely need real collective solidarity to effect any change. I'm pretty cynical about devs ever getting it together, but fuck it, we should probably try anyway.
Look, it's silly to say AI can't code. It makes us look as obsolete as managers would like to make us.
We fucked ourselves five years ago when we didn't unionize when we had the power to do so.
It's really about figuring out what levers of power we still have to not get fucked now.
FWIW, I don't think Gavin Newsom remotely fits that bill, and feel that electing another placeholder Democrat in 2028 (should we make it that far) without changing the direction of the party is simply a recipe for another fascist in 4 years.
Like my basic measure of a candidate is:
"Is there some chance electing this person could possibly play a role in humanity avoiding global catastrophe in the latter half of the 21st century?" and of the candidates even remotely considered, AOC is in my opinion the only one that fits that bill.
Like yes, her record on Palestine is by any rational measure bad AND it's objectively better than 99% of Dem electeds at the House or Senate level.
I've never seen any objective measure she's to the right of Bernie on almost anything yet people are already calling her a neoliberal.
Ok, something I don't get about AOC in 2028:
1. Seems like she's gonna go for it.
2. She'd be wildly more progressive than any Dem candidate in recent memory.
3. Her chances are at least as good or better than Bernie's.
So why is seemingly no one excited, including the Bernie bros?
To be 100% that one was somehow real.
But damn if I didn't do double take.
The Epstein emails are so nuts that I feel completely unable to tell if people are just posting fake ones.
Like who had "Chomsky is not just an old man with poor taste in friends and some reactionary political views, but a guy who provides detailed PR advice to rapists" on their 2026 bingo card?
seriously.
Am I the only one asking myself: "wait Biden just sat on all this Epstein shit?"
You can hardly blame the Trumpers for thinking before they got in "surely if Biden or Kamala had reams upon reams of deeply incriminating stuff about Trump they would have just released it and won in a landslide"
With the budget negotiations: the current plan funds the whole gov for a year but then DHS for only two weeks, in order to "negotiate reforms"? Am I correct that if Democrats had a backbone, they'd essentially be setup to actually "abolish ICE" by simply not ever agreeing to reforms in the Senate?
there's a great Triumph of the Will reference later in the interview.
Donβt sleep on all the crypto scams, especially World Liberty Financial.
November should be a slam dunk for the Democrats, but I don't see how it is if they don't get rid of Schumer by then. How can anyone believe they'll do something when they left the worst person in place for 2 straight years despite having 100% power to replace him?
R.I.P. Trump's New Tone (again)
Cool story but you forgot the biggest 2026 trend:
Migrating to Blacksky!
I genuinely don't understand how @schumer.senate.gov is still the minority leader in the Senate. Like this shouldn't be that hard -- he's 15 points more underwater than the other leaders -- even Jeffries. Why will no one challenge him?

I actually do think Trump drove "change in tone" but the scary part is just that he's well attuned enough to needing to be loved that he knows when the fascist descent is moving to fast and he needs to slow down enough to get people comfortable again with the creeping.
I'm mostly shocked not by the awfulness of her dictactes but the sheer incompetence, vapidness and cluelessness here. It's clear she's cosplaying as someone who knows how to run a news network. "more streaming less broadcast" is some Kendall Roy shit.
shout out to Keith Ellison's eyebrows when he says it.
