Iβve called people out for supporting NYT in any way in the past. People, this is the kind of organization youβre laundering reputation for everytime you link uncritically or share a fucking wordle score.
NYT is full of shit at so many levels they think this is the article that exemplifies appropriate reporting. They spent hours trying to figure out how to weasel out of reporting this and still ended up with a piece that reads like Β―\_(γ)_/Β―.
A Reductress post features a photo of Kristi Noem with the headline, βKristi Noem Put Down for Being Too Hard to Trainβ
Screaming
Sorry I'm not more open-minded about LLMs, it's just some fucking maniacs shoveled out a bunch of useless bloatware featuring that technology, did not give me any chance to opt out, reorganized the entire economy around it, zeroed out gains made by green energy, and made it impossible to buy RAM
Six days ago:
Yeah. I think going simpler becomes platform specific AFAICT. So if you want to narrow scope it's certainly possible?
raylib is a pretty quick way to get started (not sure which platform but it has many).
CALL YOUR CONGRESS PERSON NOW!!!!!! Tell them:
β NO to KOSA
β NO to Section 230 reform
β NO to the SCREEN Act
β NO to the App Store Accountability Act
βNO age verification laws
βNO to digital ID systems

One thing I truly hate about the AI period weβre living through is that 99% of projects are now βCheck out a thing I slop coded, I have no idea how it even works,β versus projects like this, which tell the world βI am possessed of arcane powers and also totally insane, behold my works and tremble.β
I know of some ActivityPub stuff but not atproto. Not sure atproto is better suited for this either but I'd love to hear an argument for it.
I think I would lay my bike over the top and lock it like that. π
I can hear the cop in him yelling like it somehow commands us all to just do whatever he wants.
Early in my career I had an ex-highway patrolman as a boss. He lost it one day and stood right in my face screaming at me. He did not take my reaction to this well: I burst out laughing. Pathetic man. π€£

My friend informed me that working at EA back in her day was a walk in the park after her time at Insomniac. But I still want to believe.
I wonder if the devs working on the Burnout series experienced burnout.

Iβd even offer to make a free platform for writers if people wanted to donate to support the hosting costs and a tiny bit of my time but at this point I feel like itβs not about alternatives, they just want to use substack and any excuse will work.
Whatβs even more confusing to me is when writers refuse to cross post to alternative paid platforms while acknowledging the problem with substack. Itβs not that hard to keep your base while growing an alternative.
Iβve made it clear to the few substack writers I used to support. They can stay where they want but they will never get any money from me on that platform. All those βindispensable featuresβ better materialize cash out of thin air.
My doomer-worry about AI is not that the LLMs become omnipotent and take over the world but that the wealthy and powerful use it as a means to consolidate power and marginalize or lay off skilled workers and also everything about our technological and political and social life gets worse
More people should listen to @tressiemcphd.bsky.social
When people say AI is inevitable, let them know the future isnβt settled.
Itβs all gross to me. Weβre people. They hate that we arenβt machines that canβt say no. I think thatβs really the core of it. And sure tech people are curious and impressed by the capabilities (not my argument) but they are missing the big picture
I have gotten back into shuffle mode. I sometimes skip a few but I have so many moments hearing something I havenβt heard in ages. Itβs worth the weird transition between each song.
My iPod nano is almost out of battery πͺ« after blasting some RAtM for my train ride tonight but it is now showing Orbital playing βPlanet of the Shapesβ
I should definitely put more Orbital in my rotation.
And sure go win at some capitalism if thatβs your boat but show me something technically new. Talk about it again! Or are those neurons dead?
So many techbros entire personality has become productivity. Itβs like madlib growth hacking but with coding agents. I kinda miss when people would actually talk about technical details rather than their productivity. Why should I care how much value your bots can shovel for some rando shareholders?
Chuck, I regret ever giving you even one vote. Youβre a spineless collaborator and look forward to seeing you lose your job. You should probably go to jail along with ICE: Stop enabling and endorsing βreformedβ terrorism!
