On the Metroidvania front, I highly recommend this for Voidwrought and Yokuβs Island Express. Yars Rising is an acceptable MV but wonβt blow you away.

Oooooh that is SNEAKY from the devs. I wonder if there's a way I can make it clearer that it's a secret within a secret...
>_< I tried to make sure all the teeny tiny little nubs on the map had a striped effect to make them stand out a bit more. Do you know which zone you're missing the 100% in?
Some feedback to PR folks that certainly wasn't asked for but hey: I find that I'm way more likely to redeem a Steam key and look at a game when it's sent to me directly via email than when I need to click through to some other site. Especially if you write "key enclosed" without enclosing a key.
I love Kotama. One of my fave games in the genre.
I. AM. READY!
We are finally (FINALLY!) ready to announce the GRIME II release date! Which is...
31st Of March 2026! Just a little over a month from now!
To celebrate, we've got a brand new trailer teasing some new bosses and combos.
I amβ¦ inevitableβ¦
Thatβs 739,666 days, 2026 years.
Sons of Sparta completion timer is broken.
Something tells me this is busted.
Worked my absolute ass off over the last couple of days to get this into a decent state. (33+ hours). Needs some tidying & prettying up, but I think everything from my Plat trophy is on there. Supporters get early access. Release version in a "couple of weeks", probably.

17 hours into mapping βGod of War: Sons of Spartaβ. 10 hours of footage covered. 15 hours of footage left to go. And then I still need to 100% bits. Erk.
Yikes! In a way Iβm glad itβs not just me having a buggy time, though Iβd rather it *were* just my experience that is off and everyone else was just able to enjoy. >_<
Yup, we're working on a new Castlevania game.
Thanks to KONAMI, & with Motion Twin's friendly advice, the franchise will be going back to its roots with what we hope to be the best whip traversal & combat ever seen in a 2D action-adventure game! Noooo pressure...

Performance of "God of War: Sons of Sparta" continues to be terrible. Lagging game, spikes of frozen time, audio desycing all over the place, dialogue not playing correctly, animations for character and enemies randomly speeding up. Very poor. Needs a patch desperately. #GodofWar
Turns out there IS a screenshot memory feature. It's unlocked like 7 hours into the game, after you've already passed a load of stuff you'd probably have marked with a screenshot. Should've been one of the first things you unlocked...
19% completion after 6 hrs 20 mins seems like it might be decent if you value longer games, but right now I'm just not having fun because this combat-focused metroidvania doesn't actually have particularly fun combat. Will come back to it tomorrow and see if I feel different.
On the plus side, the map is nice (always a bonus in a metroidvania) but would have GREATLY benefited from a leaf out of The Lost Crown's book with the "screenshot memory" feature β especially because we can't place custom markers on a tile that already has a auto-placed symbol.
Oh, and if you're a fan of the "enemies glow a certain colour when they're about to do an attack; can you remember which thing to do to avoid it" thing, be happy that there are FOUR different colours in this one. (Though tbh Purple is just "run away".)
Verdict on "God of War: Sons of Sparta" by @megacatstudios.bsky.social after 6 hrs? "Needed more time to cook." Clunky controls, glitchy AI, challenge is mostly from throwing many enemies at once w/ dodgy hitboxes, contact damage stagger locks you when surrounded, + unskippable pre-boss dialogue.

NextFest soon! Looking forward to playing some Metroidvania demos. Let me know if you'd like me to play anything in particular (or if you're a dev who wants me to try out your demo β just be aware that I'm a "moany old man", so I've been told).
Iβve seen a LOT of division around Ninja. Lots of people saying the removal of kusarigami etc from Samurai is awful; but also a lot of people saying Ninja is op as hell and makes the game too easy. Iβve not played with it much and am kinda regretting it considering my struggles.
Wuchang past patch 1.5 is weird. The quality of life was great, but I hear the story changes were stupid. Iβd still recommend it based on what it was like pre 1.5. Be nice if someone could mod the QoL into 1.4.
I found the first two really boring and poorly explained, and didnβt like the mission structure. Iβm around the level 100 range in N3 though and the difficulty and bs has ramped up. So many eaten inputs, iffy boss tracking, and general need to rebuild for each fight.
I like a lot of what Nioh 3 is doing, but the more I play the more I am certain I prefer Wuchang.
π!BIG NEWS!π
Constance will release on ALL consoles May 1st 2026! - Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series and PlayStation 5
Where will you play?π
Input eating in Nioh 3 is out of control. Regularly having to press the backstab button 2-3 times for it to work. Burst Counter is all over the place. Itβs getting to the stage where I donβt know when to blame my own bad timing or just the game anymore.
