If you were paying attention eight years ago you *could* have purchased the sign for $14,000!
The more ornate, more often photographed south-facing Carnation Company sign was removed in January 1997. It would be nice to think that this went to the Archives, but it may have just been removed because of construction needs.

Around 2008, Bob and I had a Mojave Desert camping trip rained out, so we did a day trip around So Cal in his convertible. It included my only time on the Balboa Island Ferry, but I donβt think we visited here, despite being in the area. Why not?!

It seems hard to believe it wouldn't need repainting in the 41.5 years of Carnation Ice Cream Parlor's operation, but it does look very similar to 1955.

Color photograph from the 1950s showing the Tomorrowland Skyway Station at Disneyland. A Skyway bucket is visible in the foreground. The metal structures of the Skyway station and the ride's supporting cables can be seen. People are ascending stairs towards the station. Multicolored triangular flags decorate the area. The sky is clear and blue. (circa 1957)

Early Disneyland could be hit-or-miss. Perhaps the best part of this photo is how it was taken overhead from the Skyway!

the absolute fastest way to render yourself unemployable is to build your skillset around a tool that does your thinking for you, that everyone has access to, and that one company can change or take away at any time
Seems like this goes against the Disney keys of Courtesy, Show, and Efficiency.
